The terms, plainly explained.
Everything the calculator references, defined so the numbers make sense before you run them.
What is a shout-out?
A shout-out is a parent-purchased ad in your recital program featuring their dancer’s photo and a personal message of support. Parents choose their ad size — text only, quarter page, half page, or full page — and submit everything through your branded order form. We handle the formatting and deliver polished, print-ready assets.
What is a shout-out page?
A shout-out page is a full program page filled with formatted shout-out ads. Because ads come in different sizes (1/8, 1/4, 1/2, and full page), the number of ads that fit on a single page varies. We calculate the total pages your shout-outs require and round up to the next whole page — so no ad ever gets cut off. The first shout-out page per show is always included in your setup fee.
What is a routine page?
A routine page lists your show order — every routine and the dancers performing in it — formatted beautifully and ready to print. We fit an average of 7 routines per page. Simply export your roster from your class management software and send it to us; we handle the rest. Included on The Marquee and Grand Finale.
What are blank inside pages?
Saddle-stitch booklets must be printed in multiples of 4 inside pages. If your shout-out and routine pages don’t land exactly on a multiple of 4, you’ll have a few blank pages to fill before going to print. Common options include a sponsor page, a dancer bio page, a studio history page, or a simple notes page.
What is saddle stitch binding?
Saddle-stitch is the standard staple-bound booklet format — the kind you’ve seen at recitals for years. Sheets of paper are folded and stapled through the spine. Because each sheet creates 4 pages, your total page count must always be a multiple of 4. The revenue calculator automatically rounds up so your booklet count is always print-ready.
What is routine overage?
The Marquee and Grand Finale include formatting for up to 35 routines per show. If your show has more, a routine overage fee applies — billed in blocks of 35 at $29 per block. So a show with 36–70 routines adds one block, 71–105 adds two, and so on. The first 35 routines are always included.
How are additional shows priced?
The Marquee and Grand Finale include formatting for up to 35 routines per show. If your show has more, a routine overage fee applies — billed in blocks of 35 at $29 per block. So a show with 36–70 routines adds one block, 71–105 adds two, and so on. The first 35 routines are always included.
